The series of Danfoss T2 / TE 2 thermostatic expansion valves provide efficient control of the injection of refrigerant liquid into evaporators in food retail refrigeration applications and air conditioning. These valves are compatible with various refrigerants, including R448A, R449A, R452A, R513A, R22, R407C, R134a, R404A, R507, R407F and R407A. They are available in angleway valves with solder x solder or solder x flare connections, featuring internal (T2) and external pressure equalization (TE2). They are supplied as part of a component program with separate thermostatic elements/valve bodies and exchangeable orifice assemblies, enabling easy storage, easy capacity matching, and better service.

T2 and TE2 thermostatic expansion valves are especially suitable for liquid injection in ”dry“ evaporators where the superheat at the evaporator outlet is proportional to the evaporator load. They can be supplied with special temperature ranges as required by specific installations. The capillary tube and stainless steel sensor ensure high resistance to corrosion, vibrations, and deformations. Available versions with Maximum Operating Pressure (MOP) protect the compressor motor from overload due to excessive evaporating pressure.

Features T 2 and TE 2 thermostatic expansion valves:

  • angleway body geometry
  • both unidirectional and bidirectional flow
  • internal and external pressure equalization
  • body material: brass
  • MOP (Maximum Operating Pressure) setting: none, 0°C, 10°C, 15°C, 20°C
  • interchangeable orifices assembly with a mesh filter to protect against contaminants

Benefits T 2 and TE 2 thermostatic expansion valves:

  • wide temperature range
  • easy adjustment of superheat settings
  • laser-welded thermostatic element made of stainless steel
    • high diaphragm durability
    • high working pressure
    • high corrosion resistance
  • can be supplied with MOP (Max. Operating Pressure)
  • applicable to freezing, refrigeration, and air conditioning applications

Applications of Danfoss T 2 / TE 2 thermostatic expansion valves:

  • traditional refrigeration systems
  • heat pump systems
  • air conditioning equipment
  • liquid chillers
  • mobile refrigeration units
