The German company ZIEHL-ABEGG, founded in Berlin in 1910, is one of the oldest in the industrial fan and drive systems market. At all stages of production, from development to application in specific projects, the leader in modern technology requires the most precise testing and measuring equipment.
The "technical heart" of ZIEHL-ABEGG Lufttechnik is located in InVent (short for "Innovation" and "Ventilation") in Künzelsau. The InVent development and technology center occupies three wings of the building: a central aerodynamic and acoustic stand for fan testing, an engine testing stand, and an area for the developer team with direct access to testing stands. The largest wing houses the aerodynamic and acoustic stand, which includes a test chamber weighing 1250 tons. The chamber is installed on spring-mounted vibration isolators, which prevent vibrations and external noise during highly sensitive fan noise measurements. Currently, it is the world's largest combined aerodynamic and acoustic test stand for fans.
At present, the company's factories employ over 5,000 qualified workers.
The company's competence includes ventilation technology, automatic control technology, drive systems, and products for the automotive industry. ZIEHL-ABEGG has made a breakthrough in the development of external rotor motors as drives for fans. Today, the company's product line includes axial and centrifugal fans, electric drives, and controllers for fans used in air conditioning and ventilation systems in industrial buildings and manufacturing complexes, gearless and geared elevator drives, extract motors, and controllers for drives.
