FUCHS is a global group from German that has been developing, producing, and selling lubricants for 90 years—practically for all areas of application and sectors: automotive lubricants (engine, transmission, and special lubricants); industrial oils (hydraulic oils, gear oils, guide and turbine oils, refrigeration oils, and many others); metalworking fluids such as cutting fluids, quenching fluids, and corrosion preventatives; and specialty lubricants.

FUCHS has been developing and producing RENISO refrigeration lubricants for over 50 years. During this time, the highest standards for product quality and the production process have been established and continually developed.

Proprietary laboratory methods ensure a high level of expertise: refrigeration oils optimally adapted to the refrigerant, compressor, and system. New challenges related to the new European F-Gas Regulation (EU Regulation 517/2014 on the phase-down of high-GWP refrigerants) for refrigeration oils also make a reliable and innovative lubricant manufacturer, such as FUCHS, an increasingly important partner in refrigeration technology. The nearly complete range of FUCHS RENISO products includes synthetic lubricants based on POE, PAO, AB, and PAG, as well as selected mineral oils with excellent low-temperature properties. For conventional HFCs like R134a, R410A, or R407C, as well as for natural refrigerants like NH3, CO2, or hydrocarbons, FUCHS's portfolio always includes the appropriate RENISO refrigeration oil. Additionally, the development of new HFO refrigerants such as R1234ze and R1234yf and their blends is currently being tested in development laboratories.

Chemical and thermal stability (in sealed tube tests according to the US ASHRAE 97 standard), as well as miscibility and solubility tests of refrigeration oils in a refrigerant atmosphere, are conducted in specialized laboratory facilities. The latest laboratory technology, combined with individually designed test rigs, allows for testing the wear protection of refrigeration oils under the influence of dissolved refrigerant. The thermal and chemical stability of oil-refrigerant mixtures—with and without equipment components such as seals and bearing metals—is studied in high-pressure autoclaves developed by FUCHS.
